Philantrophy - making a difference
A more structured approach to charitable donations

Unlike ad hoc charitable donations, philanthropy takes a more structured approach to charitable giving. It’s more strategic and has a defined purpose. It aims to achieve tangible results over a longer period.

Philanthropy is increasingly important as part of a holistic private wealth management strategy. Through our finely tuned services, we assist in the establishment and ongoing administration of bespoke structures that can ensure philanthropic goals and a desired legacy can be achieved
The art of giving

Philanthropy can be integrated into your estate and legacy planning to ensure your values are passed down the generations. By incorporating charitable giving strategies, such as foundations or trusts, you can pass on your legacy while benefiting the causes you care about. This approach can foster a sense of purpose and align financial success with social impact to create a meaningful and enduring legacy, above and beyond the financial inheritance you leave.

patagonia

Founder Yvon Chouinard transferred the ownership of his company to ensure all profits are directed to combat climate change and Patagonia is now owned by the Patagonia Purpose Trust and Holdfast Collective, which were both created to make sure Patagonia's values are upheld for years to come. They also ensure that Patagonia's profits are used to fight the climate crisis.

Since 1985, Patagonia has pledged 1% of sales to the preservation and restoration of the natural environment and awarded over $89 million in cash and in-kind donations to domestic and international grassroots environmental groups making a difference in their local communities. In 2002, founder of Patagonia, Yvon Chouinard, and Craig Mathews, owner of Blue Ribbon Flies, created a non-profit corporation to encourage other businesses to do the same.
